If your family members are located elsewhere in another country outside of the UAE, you have to apply for an entry residence visa prior to their arrival. You then have to file an application for a residence visa stamp within 30 days from date of arrival,
Salary Requirements for Sponsorship:
Minimum wage: you might have to sponsor your family members if your wage is less than AED 4,000 (or AED 3,675 with accommodation).
Sponsors: Parents Minimum month income requirement AED 20,000. However, with an apartment of two rooms, that amount is reduced to AED 19,000.
Required Documentation:
Application Form (filled-up).
- Salary certificate, if government employee; work contract, attested by competent authorities, if private sector employee.
- Recent bank statements: Three months for long-term residents; one month for new residents, unless you have a bank letter confirming salary transfers.
- Tenancy contract with a signature, Emirates ID, and labor contract.
- Attested marriage certificate: If married in the UAE, certification must be done by UAE authorities; if married abroad, it must be attested by your home country’s authorities.
- Original passport of the sponsor and family member(s) thereof; copy
- Medical certificate for spouses or children aged 15 and above, issued by government hospital/clinic
- Photographs of three passport sizes for each member of the family.
Additional Updated Information:
Health Insurance: Each resident in the UAE needs to have medical insurance. In order to sponsor family, a medical coverage is essential.
Ejari (Tenancy Contract): It has been mandatory to register the tenancy agreement Ejari with RERA or Real Estate Regulatory Authority in some emirates to be considered valid for visa application purposes.
Emirates ID Biometrics: Family members have to undergo biometrics for the Emirates ID part of the residency process.
Additional Requirements for Multiple Dependents: Sponsor multiple dependents, and check if your salary can pass the threshold level requirements for such cases determined by UAE authorities.
Important Considerations:
Maintaining Residency : They must not stay for more than six consecutive months abroad in order to maintain the residency visa in valid state.
Sponsorship of Multiple Wives : The UAE laws allow expatriate Muslims to sponsor only one of their wives if they are married to more than one.
Education Sponsorship : Sponsorship of a child’s education may also require documentation such as school enrollment.
